President Trump spent Saturday attacking 😠 California for ‘gross mismanagement’ 💪 and talking about a meeting with French 🇫🇷 President Macron.
*🐦 There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!*
In August, with fires growing to historic sizes in California, Trump tweeted that the state is “foolishly” diverting “vast amounts of water from the North,” blaming bad environmental laws for the summer’s deadly fires.
*🐦 I am in Paris getting ready to celebrate the end of World War One. Is there anything better to celebrate than the end of a war, in particular that one, which was one of the bloodiest and worst of all time?*
The World War I commemoration comes at a moment in which populist leaders across the globe are promoting nationalism, Theresa May’s Britain is attempting to leave the European Union and the United States is pursuing isolation under Trump’s America First vision. It was Trump’s second visit to Paris since July last year, when he arrived as Macron’s guest of honor at Bastille Day celebrations.
*🐦 Had very productive meetings and calls for our Country today. Meeting tonight with World Leaders!*
Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron. During the meeting, the heads of the two countries discussed the issue of creating a pan-European army and increasing the share of Europe’s expenses within NATO.
*🐦 Trying to STEAL two big elections in Florida! We are watching closely!*
*🐦 More than 4,000 are fighting the Camp and Woolsey Fires in California that have burned over 170,000 acres. Our hearts are with those fighting the fires, the 52,000 who have evacuated, and the families of the 11 who have died. The destruction is catastrophic. God Bless them all.*
Brian Rice, the California Professional Firefighters president, released a statement Saturday afternoon chiding the president for what he called a “shameful attack on California” and for shifting attention from what is really important. “The president’s message attacking California and threatening to withhold aid to the victims of the cataclysmic fires is Ill-informed, ill-timed and demeaning to those who are suffering as well as the men and women on the front lines,” Rice said in the statement. “At a time when our every effort should be focused on vanquishing the destructive fires and helping the victims, the president has chosen instead to issue an uninformed political threat aimed squarely at the innocent victims of these cataclysmic fires.”
*🐦 These California fires are expanding very, very quickly (in some cases 80-100 acres a minute). If people don’t evacuate quickly, they risk being overtaken by the fire. Please listen to evacuation orders from State and local officials!*
